How to Choose
It is important to plan your vacation early. Homes are unique and are booked in advance. To have the best selection, we advise our clients to book at least 6 months to a year in advance. Before you start to browse, we encourage you to think about the following:

Location... Get yourself a good guidebook and become familiar with the different regions. Ask us about possibilities.

Size... How many people do you need to sleep? Can some sleep on pull out couches or must they all be in bedrooms?

Type of vacation... Do you want a greater amount of downtime or do you want to be able to use the house as a base from which to do day-trips?

Walking... Will you have a car or do you need a place near public transportation?

Property... Are you looking for a private villa with staff, apartment on an estate, or a rustic farmhouse?

Amenities... Do you want your own pool, maid service?

Timing... In Italy, rentals are usually booked from Saturday afternoon arrival to Saturday morning departure.

Prices
Weekly prices usually include standard use of utilities (except telephone) and linens. In some houses a certain amount of electricity is included and any extra is upon consumption. In some cases, a cleaning service may be provided. A final cleaning charge is usually paid on-site. A security deposit is paid at the beginning of the stay to cover telephone expenses and any unforeseen damage and is returned upon departure or after the reading of meters.

Always make sure to check the specifications under each listing.

Deposit
All bookings require anywhere from a 30% to 50% deposit to confirm. We highly advise that you take out trip cancellation insurance because in most cases, if the reservation is cancelled the deposit is forfeited.
What to Expect
The accommodations in Italy and Croatia are not like those in America and things like beds, linens and even towels are different - but this is all part of the local way of life. Electricity is more expensive overseas and many times a house only has a certain amount of wattage so you will have to use one appliance at a time. Not all farmhouses in the country have screens and most houses do not have air-conditioning but you will learn when to open and close the shutters at just the right times. Some noises may be different. You can be out in the middle of the country where the farmer starts working at 5 am. However, you also come across a sunset never seen before or a taste of a local meal that will remain with you over a lifetime... This is all part of the charm and if you come with an open mind, you are bound to create a memorable experience!
Travel Planning
Once the final payment has been received, you will receive a rental voucher and arrival instructions. In the meantime, we can help you with car rental, guided tours, art lessons, cooking classes, hiring of a chef - anything to make this vacation unique!
Final Step: Enjoy!
